Delima Oil projects RM1.2bil turnover
KUALA LUMPUR: Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd expects a turnover of RM1.2bil this year with the launch of several new products, said chief executive officer Zakaria Arshad.
Last year, the company chalked up RM1.13 billion in revenue, he told reporters after the launch of its new bread spread products.
He said the new products, comprising peanut butter as well as peanut and chocolate spreads, would be available at over 7,000 outlets including hypermarkets, supermarkets, mini markets and sundry shops nationwide.
Zakaria said the company had put more efforts in research and development to diversify its product range in its bid to strengthen its downstream activities.
“We have invested about RM3mil on production, advertising and promotion costs for the three new products,” he said.
Apart from the local market, Zakaria said the company’s products were already being distributed in Myanmar. It is now eyeing to penetrate the Philippines and Indonesia.
Delima Oil, which is a wholly-owned unit of Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd, is the market leader for cooking oil in Malaysia with its famous Saji brand which enjoyed a market share of about 30%.
Delima Oil markets palm oil-based downstream products such as refined, bleached, and deodorised bulk oil; cooking oil; margarine, shortening and dough fat; pure vegetable ghee and hydrogenated products; some of which are established brands. — Bernama
