Sime unit rolls out four Alfa Romeo models
SIME Darby Auto Connexion Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned unit of Sime Darby Motor Division that manages the Alfa Romeo brand, is targeting to sell 150 units in the next 12 months.
The company yesterday launched four models simultaneously – the Alfa Romeo 159 sports sedan, GT Blackline coupe, Brera coupe and Spider cabriolet.
Managing director Rajan Thurairatnam says its 2.2-litre Alfa Romeo 159, which is also the cheapest of the range at RM188,888 (excluding registration, road tax and insurance), will be its core model in terms of sales.
He is optimistic about the response for its two-door Mito that it expects to launch in the second half.
The 2.0-litre Alfa Romeo GT Blackline, 2.2-litre Brera Coupe and 2.2-litre Spider cabriolet are priced at RM218,888, RM308,888 and RM318,888 respectively.
Going forward, Rajan says the company hopes to bring in models with higher engine capacity or even diesel variants.
Sime Darby Auto Connexion also manages the Ford and Land Rover brands. It launched a new 3S centre valued at nearly RM1mil in Petaling Jaya yesterday. The company now has 11 outlets.
