Packet One launches new portable broadband device
KUALA LUMPUR: Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd (P1) yesterday introduced WiGGY, its portable broadband device which promises a new level of mobile broadband performance.
Under a joint promotion, P1 together with Intel and Acer will offer 5,000 units of the latest Acer Aspire One Netbook equipped with the Intel Atom processor for free with every WiGGY subscription.
P1 chief executive officer Michael Lai said the package would be available exclusively at PC Fair to be held in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baru from today to Sunday.
Michael Lai WiGGY is priced at RM299 with a monthly subscription fee of RM149 for a 12-month contract. Other fees include RM100 for registration and RM60 for activation.
The device was designed specifically to meet the needs of demanding next-generation Internet users who want reliable high-speed upload and download speed, Lai told a press conference.
Lai said unlike other devices available in the market, WiGGY incorporated two antennas rather than the usual one antenna to allow data to be uploaded and downloaded simultaneously for better broadband performance.
WiGGY also used advanced smart antenna technology incorporating mutiple in and out capabilities for faster access to the Internet, he added. – Bernama
