Spektrum in pact with Belden on broadband project
KUALA LUMPUR: Spektrum Majujaya Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of agreement on Monday with US-based Belden Inc to form a smart partnership to outsource opportunities in high-speed broadband project initiated by the Pahang state government.
The signing held here was witnessed by Pahang State Exco of Information Technology, Science and Technology, Datuk Sharkar Shamsuddin, on behalf of Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.
Spektrum Majujaya was represented by its executive chairman Datuk Paduka Khairuddin Abu Hassan while Belden Singapore's Southeast Asian manager Bruce Moore signed on behalf of Belden.
Khairuddin in his speech said the smart partnership would bring together all elements needed to develop new technologies and applications to benefit the country.
He said the cooperation was to transfer technology and know-how, and to share skills to co-develop localised content for multimedia applications of world-class standard.
"We hope Belden will become our long-term partner in this exciting endeavour to build IT (information technology) infrastructure to reach at least 50 per cent of the households in Malaysia," he added. - BERNAMA
