LG Electronics Malaysia aims for RM1bil annual sales
PENANG: LG Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is aiming to achieve annual sales of RM1 billion in the next three years, managing director and chief executive officer T.Y. Ko said Friday.
He said the Malaysian subsidiary of LG Electronics Inc had experienced an increase in sales for past few months.
"Last year we recorded sales of RM25 million in Penang, Perak, Kedah and Perlis but we hope to increase this to RM60 million by the year-end in line with our national target of RM1 billion annual sales in the next three years," he told reporters after officiating the new Penang office here.
Ko said the company was hoping to increase its brand presence and expand its current network of dealers across the northern region.
"We look forward to providing hands-on experience for consumers to better understand and appreciate the various products on display," he said, adding that the company has nine branches and more than 80 dealers in Malaysia.
Penang branch general manager Chee Khay Huat said LG Electronics Malaysia was looking to expand its brand shop programme as part of its advertising and promotional campaigns.
"The brand shop will indirectly attract more business partners to join the LG family as it will be displaying and selling only LG products," Chee said.
He said the company, with 10 brand shops currently, planned to add another 30 outlets nationwide.
LG Electronics is also one of the world's leading producers of flat-panel TVs, audio and video products, mobile handsets, air conditioners and washing machines. - BERNAMA
