KUALA LUMPUR: Six bumiputra-owned companies are among the 10 new applications for franchising approved in the last three months, said Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) secretary general Hasma Ahmad.
Bikerz and SAL Group of Colleges were among the successful applicants, she said.
MFA chairman Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir said there were now 321 franchise systems registered in Malaysia, representing a 15% growth over the past four years.
Hasma said 20 home-grown franchisors had successfully established themselves overseas and expanded to 42 countries.
