ExxonMobil awards RM57m contracts to SILK


KUALA LUMPUR: ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. has awarded three contracts valued at RM57.42mil to SILK Holdings Bhd's subsidiary to provide three vessels.

SILK said on Friday its subsidiary, Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was awarded contracts to provide one anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTSV) and two straight supply vessels (SSV).

"The contracts for both AHTSV and SSVs are expected to commence by early August 2012 for a primary term of three years for the AHTSV and one year for the SSVs respectively, each with an option exercisable by the charterer for extension of the same for a further period of one year," it said.

SILK said the contracts, valued at RM57.42mil for their primary term, were expected to contribute positively to SILK Group earnings and assets for FY ending July 31, 2013, and beyond.
