Cagamas issues RM215m conventional notes


KUALA LUMPUR: Cagamas Bhd has issued conventional medium term notes (CMTNs) amounting to RM215mil which would be used to purchase conventional housing loans from the financial system.

The national mortgage corporation said on Wednesday the CMTNs were issued in tenures of one, two, three & four years at yields of 3.29%, 3.30%, 3.35% and 3.47% respectively or equivalent to a 29 basis points to 35 basis points range over comparable Malaysia Government Securities (MGS).

"The Cagamas CMTN which will be redeemed at their full nominal value on maturity, are unsecured obligations of the Company, ranking pari passu among themselves and with all other existing unsecured obligations of the Company," it said.

Cagamas said the CMTNs would be listed and tradable under the Scripless Securities Trading System.

Since its incorporation in 1986, Cagamas has cumulatively issued RM262bil of conventional and Islamic debt securities.
