By Ng Bei Shan

KUALA LUMPUR: DiGi.Com Bhd's unit DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and Malayan Banking Bhd have teamed up to provide an over-the-counter (OTC) remittance service that enables users to remit cash to nine countries across Asia.

The service known as DiGi SendMoney will be offered at 20 DiGi Centres nationwide, including three new DiGi Remittance Centres.

Maybank deputy president and head of community financial services Lim Hong Tat said on Tuesday: "We are projecting a total remittance of RM3.37bil from our Maybank Money Express service."

He said this target was based on the current sustainable economic growth and the increased number of foreign workers in the country.

The service enables customers to transfer money to Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Vietnam.
