Four-day rally eases on profit taking


KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips shed some of their gains on Thursday after the four-day rally during which the FBM KLCI was just a hair breath from the all-time closing high of 1,606.

At 10.11am, the FBM KLCI was down 4.64 points to 1,599.75. Turnover was 384 million shares valued RM207.52mil. There were 181 gainers, 216 losers and 258 stocks unchanged.

Pharmaniaga was the top loser after its share price doubled when it resumed trading last Friday. It fell 36 sen to RM9.14 with 43,400 shares done.

MBSB-CB fell 23 sen to 20 sen, Jaya Tiasa fell 15 sen to RM9 after posting weaker earnings while PBB and Petronas Gas shed 14 sen each to RM Rm15.90 and RM17.82.

Dutch Lady was the top gainer, up 28 sen to RM36.08 while Nestle added 20 sen to RM57.98. Segi-WA rallied 21 sen to RM1.31 while MISC rose 13 sen to RM4.01 on expectations of becoming profitable this financial year.
