VEGOILS-Market factors to watch 08/10/12(Monday)
KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Monday.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures ended higher on Friday as steep losses earlier in the week helped lure buyers back into the market, while there was also some positioning ahead of a now delayed decision on a proposal to cut palm oil export taxes.
* U.S. corn fell on Monday, extending losses into a second consecutive session, as the rapid pace of the Midwest harvest weighed on the grain. Soybeans and wheat were steady.
* Oil prices fell in volatile trading on Friday and posted weekly losses as a fragile global economy and uncertainty about Europe's debt crisis offset support from a better-than-expected U.S. employment report.
MARKET NEWS
* Global shares edged higher on Friday and Treasury prices tumbled after the U.S. unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to a near four-year low, pointing to improvement in the labor market.
* Oil prices fell on Friday, capping a volatile week, and most other commodities were down too on investor worry over the fragile global economy and Europe's unresolved debt crisis.
