PKT teams up with Polisas for education development


PETALING JAYA: Total logistics provider PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd and Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (Polisas) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will see the former assisting in the educational development of the Pahang-based institute.

PKT Logistics said in a statement that the MoU outlines potential areas of collaboration between it and Polisas, including onsite training for lecturers at its headquarters and industrial visits by undergraduates of Polisas to its logistics hub.

The company also said the MoU outlines the placement of jobs and internships for qualified students of Polisas and the provision of regular lectures, qualified and experienced personnel from PKT Logistics.

Separately, PKT Logistics also said it was “spreading its wings” to the eastern region by building a mega logistics hub in Gebeng Industrial Area, Kuantan.

It said the One Eastern Hub (OEH), will have a built-up of about 450,000 sq ft of modern warehousing space that sits on 18 acres of industrial land.

It said Green Building Index certified warehouse would also cater to staff welfare and would be equipped with a gym and lounge with standards similar to the one in the One Logistics Hub in Shah Alam.
