Harvard programme for Naza chairman
PETALING JAYA: Naza joint group executive chairman Datuk SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin has become the first Malaysian to be invited to the Harvard Business School’s Owners’/Presidents’ Management Programme (OPM) in Boston, the United States.
Naza said in a statement yesterday that the part-time multi-year programme was offered to Faisal because of his “renewed diversity and dynamism” in handling an international conglomerate.
The OPM is carried out in three-week sessions over three years.
Its students are exposed to developing long-term strategies for effective change, creating practical action plans and leveraging the extensive Harvard Business School’s network for advise and peer support.
Separately, the Asia-Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards recently awarded Faisal with the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” title.
“It was truly a progress from one generation of Naza to another as Entrepreneurship Asia has also awarded the late Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin with the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award in 2008,” Naza said.
In May, the KL Malay Chamber of Commerce awarded him the “Entrepreneur of the Year” title for his contribution to the automotive industry and as a young bumiputra entrepreneur.
For successfully transforming his portfolio of companies into an international conglomerate, Faisal also received the “Emerging CEO” award from the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia in February.
