MSIG Insurance cover for traditional Chinese medicine practitioners
KUALA LUMPUR: MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd has in collaboration with the Federation of Chinese Physicians and Acupuncturists Association of Malaysia (FCPAAM), introduced a professional liability insurance scheme for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners.
In a statement Tuesday, MSIG said the practitioners can enjoy financial protection against potential negligence claims by patients, error or omission committed by them, with the new scheme.
The scheme, it said, offers indemnity protection of up to RM500,000 with the annual premium starting from RM388.
It is exclusively available to all registered FCPAAM members aged between 21 and 70 years.
They must also be registered with the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
The policy may be renewed up to the age of 80.
The professional liability insurance scheme also allows the TCM practitioners to enjoy cross-border protection with an optional cover which starts from RM58.20 annually.
With the extension cover, TCM practitioners can treat patients outside Malaysia in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. - Bernama
