KFC to open five RasaMas outlets
By EDY SARIF
PETALING JAYA: KFC Holdings (M) Bhd plans to invest RM3mil to open five new RasaMas restaurants in the country this year. Managing director Jamaludin Md Ali said it currently had more than 40 restaurants in Malaysia and three in Brunei.
“We may open more than five outlets if we manage to find more good locations.
“We plan to have an average of five new outlets annually over the next few years,” he told reporters yesterday after the launch of Rasamas Hainan Chicken, a promotional meal in conjunction with the Chinese New Year holidays.
Jamaluddin said he hoped RasaMas’ contribution to the group’s total sales would hit 10% this year through the introduction of more products.
He said for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2009, RasaMas contributed RM22mil to KFC Holdings’ total sales of RM1.67bil.
He added that the group expected to attract more customers to its RasaMas chain and help drive up its system-wide sales by more than 15% during the Hainan Chicken promotion period that would run until April 7.
Asked whether KFC Holdings would expand RasaMas to other countries apart from Brunei, he said at this time, its focus would be on the local market.
