Boost for Canon market share
SHAH ALAM: Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd is on track to achieve a 30% share of the compact camera and 50% share of the digital single-lense reflect market by year-end, says president and chief executive officer Liew Sip Chon.
At present, he said, the company held a 25% and 41% market share respectively in these two segments.
“We are confident of improving the market share with our continuous and aggressive advertising campaign and the launch of new products,” Liew said after the launch of Canon’s new compact products yesterday.
He said the company would spend about RM5mil on advertising in the fourth quarter. Its budget for the year is about RM10mil.
Canon launched its latest range of compact cameras – the PowerShot SX20 IS and SX120 IS, IXUS 200 IS and IXUS 120 IS as well as the Selphy ES40 photo printer.
It also unveiled its latest dual-flash memory camcorders – the Legria HF21 and Legria HF S11. — Bernama
