Japan auto production sinks in July
TOKYO: Japan's top automakers say their global vehicle production continues to tumble on a prolonged slump in demand worldwide.
Toyota Motor Corp., the world's biggest carmaker, said Friday its global output in July dropped 20.1 percent from a year earlier to 576,074, marking the 12th straight monthly fall.
Honda Motor Co., Japan's No. 2 automaker, said it made 258,972 vehicles worldwide in July, down 24.3 percent year-on-year.
Nissan Motor Co. said its global production slumped 15.9 percent to 265,623, down for the 12th consecutive month. - AP
