Tech arm to contribute 30% to Skali revenue
KUALA LUMPUR: Skali Group, an e-business specialist, is eyeing 20% to 30% revenue contribution from its subsidiary, Softlakes Sdn Bhd, in the next three years.
Its president Aimi Aizal Nasharuddin said the projection was in view of the fast-growing information and communications technology (ICT) industry, which was expected to continue to underpin future growth and innovation.
Softlakes is the technology arm of Skali, set up last year with an initial capital of between RM1.3mil and RM1.4mil.
“In Malaysia, technological progress in ICT products and services has provided a positive effect, which has led to the introduction of a wide range of new applications and opening of more doors for business opportunities.
“With the industry capability to push for greater growth and innovation, Skali sees great opportunities for business growth and this can be achieved via Softlakes,” Aimi told a media briefing yesterday.
He said Softlakes was also currently working on the development of several products and solutions for small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).
There were plenty of opportunities in the SME segment, a significant driver of the country’s economy, and where the use of technology was still not high, he said. — Bernama
Softlakes was set up to undertake research and development and deliver innovative e-business technology solutions to enable its customers to achieve business efficiency.
“In the past, most of our application’s development was done within Skali, but last year, we started to break up the company to focus on specific business areas,” he said.
