Plans for 3S Audi centre in July
By LAALITHA HUNT
SHAH ALAM: Euromobil Sdn Bhd, the importer and distributor of Audi vehicles, plans to open its new 3S (sales, service and spare parts) centre in July as part of its network expansion plan.
It also aims to set up a state-of-the-art Audi showroom within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle by September.
Chief executive officer Stanley Tan said currently, the Euromobil Audi network comprised 3S centres in Shah Alam and Penang.
Tan said he hoped to establish a presence in the southern region with the opening of the new 3S centre in Johor, declining to reveal the cost of its investment.
Euromobil, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd, launched the new Audi Q5 sports utility vehicle (SUV) yesterday.
Tan targets to sell 400 units of the new Audi Q5 and the latest version of Audi A4, launched last June, this year.
Euromobil sold 230 Audi units last year.
“We had received pre-orders of more than 50 units for the Audi Q5 when rumours of its impending arrival in Malaysia broke out earlier,” Tan said after the launch yesterday.
The Audi Q5 and the A4 sedan would be the main models contributing to the company’s total sales, he said, adding: “About 70% of sales will be generated by these two models and, for the Audi Q5 alone, we expect it to contribute 100 units of sales to our target.”
On Euromobil’s advertising and promotion activities, Tan said the company had spent a substantial amount in its efforts to build up the brand in line with Audi’s vision to be the top premium brand car maker by 2015.
Euromobil chairman Datuk Syed Hisham Syed Wazir said it had put up many billboards at strategic locations and intended to spend more but at a prudent level.
“With the huge investment, hopefully by next year we would be able to break even,” he said.
