Bank Negara reserves at RM335b
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara’s international reserves increased to RM334.6bil (US$96bil) as at Oct 30, from RM334.2bil (US$95.9bil) as at Oct 15.
The reserves position is sufficient to finance 9.9 months of retained imports and is 3.9 times the short-term external debt, the central bank said in a statement yesterday.
The gross international reserves comprised gold (US$1.2bil), foreign currency reserves (US$86bil), IMF Reserves position (US$400mil), special drawing rights (US$2.1bil) and other reserve assets (US$6.3bil). Bank Negara assets and liabilities increased to RM364.788bil at end October from RM364.186bil a fortnight ago. — Bernama
