Scomi Marine unit buys AHTS vessel for US$15mil
PETALING JAYA: Scomi Marine Bhd unit PT Rig Tenders Indonesia Tbk has purchased a AHTS (anchor handling, towing and supply) vessel worth US$15mil, to be delivered in the first quarter of 2010.
The purchase would see Rig Tenders’ vessel fleet increasing to 57 units, Scomi said in a statement.
Rig Tenders, through a 70:30 joint venture with Marco Polo Ventures Pte Ltd, has entered into a ship purchase agreement that includes a ship repair and maintenance agreement with Marco Polo Shipping Co Pte Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Singapore-based integrated shipping group Macro Polo Marine Ltd.
In the first half of 2009, Rig Tenders recorded a revenue of US$23.75mil with an operating profit of US$1.17mil.
Its offshore oil and gas contracts include contracts from Total E&P Indonesia and BP West Java Ltd.
