Three Malaysian banks to enter Bosnia
KUALA LUMPUR: Three local Islamic banks are preparing to set up their operations in Bosnia which are expected to start by year-end, says Bosnia-Herzegovina ambassador to Malaysia, Ensar Eminovic.
He, however, declined to name the banks. Eminovic said the banks started to prepare for the launch a few months ago.
“They have exchanged some business documents and the information that I have is that they have gone quite a long way,” he told a media briefing on Malaysia Global Business Forum – Bosnia Herzegovina yesterday.
Eminovic said the names of the banks would be revealed at the forum, which would be held from Nov 8-11 at the Borneo Convention Centre in Kuching, Sarawak.
He said representatives of Bosnian companies would attend the forum and seek strategic partnerships to penetrate the Malaysian market.
Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was expected to deliver a keynote address, he said. — Bernama
