Senheng set to meet sales target


JOHOR BARU: Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd, a local leading electrical chain store operator, is confident of meeting its sales target of RM520mil this year.

Managing director Lim Kim Heng said the company’s sales for the first 11 months of this year increased by 19% compared to the same period last year.

“We will definitely be giving our employees bonuses this year,” he told StarBiz after opening the SenQ Digital Station at the AEON Bukit Indah shopping centre yesterday.

Senheng Electrical has invested RM2.5mil in the store, which has a built-up area of 1,208 sq metres.

Lim said he was also confident that the company would meet its 2009 sales target that was set at RM620mil.

Asked how Senheng managed to increase sales when the economy was facing a downturn, Lim attributed its success to the wide range of products at its outlets.

“We offer about 50 brand names and about 3,000 items,” he said.

“We will also be opening another 30 SenHeng and SenQ outlets next year,” he said, adding that the SenQ outlets were designed to attract the younger customers while the older ones preferred to buy from their SenHeng outlets.

Lim also revealed that the company, which would be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year, was identifying the best location to set up its first overseas outlet in Vietnam, which he said was a market with huge potential.

“We hope to open the outlet next year,” he said.

The company opened its 100th outlet earlier this month.
