Micro credit for small businesses
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara will be setting aside RM200mil to provide micro credit facilities to help entrepreneurs operating small businesses.
The additional funding would be coordinated and distributed through existing channels, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.
The Government would also set aside a revolving capital fund of RM100mil for the Urban Micro Financial Programme run by Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), considering its success with the same programme for the rural area.
Since its launch early this year, the urban mirco financial programme has provided financing amounting to more than RM500,000 to some 200 borrowers. — Bernama
